Ad Campaign

I'm an amature photographer, and I love to use my little point-and-shoot around Bellingham to capture moments of beauty and life.  Bellingham is a beautiful city, full of life, color, and surprises.  But I rarely do anything with these photos.

In 2010, I created this ad campaign to encourage Bellingham tourism and show off my photography and what little tricks I had taught myself to do in Adobe Photoshop.

Experience Beauty

This photo was taken at Clayton beach, down Chuckanut drive.  I used a color filter to make the water purple, but other than that, the photo is untouched.

I just love the arrangement of the elements in this photo, especially since it wasn't staged at all.

Experience Simplicity

This photo was taken in downtown Fairhaven, of the courtyard behind Village Books in the early Spring.

I love the lighting and the lines in this. I constantly forget about Fairhaven despite living fairly close by, and all I have to do is look at this photo to get me to go back.
Experience Life

This photo was staged.  Those are the shadows of three of my friends at sunset along the railroad bed that runs parallels Chuckanut drive.

There are a lot of places to explore in Bellingham, and they're particularly colorful as the sun is going down.

I have to say that the dazzling sunsets are what I love about living along the water.
Experience Western
When I look back on this one now, I realize that it should really read "Experience Spontaneity" as the photo was taken in Red Square during an AoK event (Acts of Kindness Club).  There was a planned flashmob in the fountain where so many privy students had hit "play" on their iPods at the same time, listening and dancing to the same song together...in absolute silence.

The absolute silence didn't last very long, and their raucous and dancing drew a crowd.  Their laughter and dancing was a nice sight on a barely Spring day during Winter quarter, so I snapped a picture.
